Genesis Concept Cars Make Public Debut in Italy, Demonstrating High Performance on Mountain Roads

[Financial News] Genesis made the world premiere of two high-performance concept cars driving on public roads in Italy. By entering the mid-engine grand tourer Genesis Magma GT Concept and the off-roader X Skorpio Concept side by side, the brand showcased the broad spectrum of luxury performance it is pursuing. The company was also praised for demonstrating its technological capabilities across motorsports and future mobility by combining real mountain-road driving by a racing driver with a hypercar exhibition.
Genesis announced that it had unveiled the two concept cars driving on public roads for the first time at the Tutto Bene Hillclimb, held on the 9th local time near Mount Mottarone and Lake Maggiore in Piedmont, Italy.
The Tutto Bene Hillclimb is an automotive culture event jointly planned by Borromeo De Silva, a design studio in Milan, Italy, and Race Service, a creative agency in Los Angeles. Unlike conventional hillclimb events focused on competition for rankings, it is an invitation-only program in which participants drive along an approximately 9-kilometer mountain road with 51 corners, sharing the performance of the vehicles and the joy of driving. After its inaugural event in 2024, the event established itself as a leading automotive culture gathering, with more than 80 vehicles participating last year.
Genesis Magma GT Concept, which drove on public roads at this year’s event, symbolizes Genesis’ vision of luxury performance. It is a mid-engine grand tourer first unveiled at the Genesis Magma World Premiere held at Circuit Paul Ricard in France last November.
X Skorpio Concept, which also took to the mountain course, is an extreme off-road concept car first unveiled in January this year in the Rub' al Khali Desert, also known as the Empty Quarter, in the United Arab Emirates. André Lotterer, a Genesis Magma racing driver, took the wheel for its first drive on European soil. The vehicle presented a design direction that extends Genesis’ signature design philosophy of “dynamic elegance” into the off-road arena.
In addition to the driving models, Genesis displayed the Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar and the Box Buggy Concept at the venue, highlighting its development capabilities spanning high performance and future technologies. At last year’s event, Genesis also presented a hillclimb run by the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Concept, driven by André Lotterer.
