LG CNS Receives Plaque of Appreciation from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Taxes for Building Tax Administration System

[Financial News] LG CNS announced on the 14th that it had received a plaque of appreciation from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Taxes in recognition of its contribution to the successful construction of Coretax, a next-generation tax administration system, as well as its continued technical and operational support.
Coretax is a next-generation tax administration system developed by the Directorate General of Taxes under Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance. It integrates previously dispersed functions—including taxpayer registration, filing, payment, refunds, tax audits and collection—into a single platform, making it a key national project for shifting tax administration to a digital foundation. Based on Coretax, the Indonesian government is working to improve the efficiency of tax administration, make tax payments more convenient and establish a data-driven tax management system, thereby strengthening the country’s fiscal foundation.
LG CNS formed a consortium with Austrian IT company Qualysoft GmbH and completed construction of the system in December 2024. It then worked with the Directorate General of Taxes through March this year to support system operations and stabilization. Since April, when the tax authority began operating the system, LG CNS has continued providing technical support after winning a maintenance contract covering key infrastructure, including the database.
Coretax is producing visible results alongside the stabilization of its operations. According to the Ministry of Finance and the Directorate General of Taxes, tax revenue in the first half of this year totaled 1,035.7 trillion rupiah (approximately 79.1 trillion won), an increase of about 24.6% from the same period a year earlier. Revenue rose across major tax categories, including corporate income tax, personal income tax and value-added tax. The Directorate General of Taxes explained that, along with the recovery of economic activity, stronger tax administration through Coretax and improved taxpayer compliance supported the increase in revenue.
LG CNS is discussing an enhancement project with the Directorate General of Taxes to integrate AI technology into Coretax. The company plans to further improve the efficiency of tax administration and taxpayer services through AI-powered task automation and data analysis functions.
For more than 20 years, LG CNS has carried out e-government projects for major public institutions in Indonesia, including Coretax projects as well as projects for the national police and the Ministry of Finance. Since last year, it has further expanded its local business by undertaking a project to build infrastructure for a 100 billion won-scale AI data center in Jakarta.
