YS's Second Son: "It's a Shame Yong Hye-in Resigned—She Could Have Helped Bring Down the Administration"

[Financial News] Kim Hyun-chul, chairman of the President Kim Young-sam Memorial Foundation and second son of the late former President Kim Young-sam, sarcastically commented on Yong Hye-in's voluntary resignation as nominee for minister of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, saying, "If she had held out just a little longer, she could have made a significant contribution to bringing down the Democratic Party administration. It's such a shame."
On the 13th, Kim said on Facebook, "It seems Kim Seung-won is determined to carry on to the very end, so don't get tired—hold out and keep holding out. Only then will Lee Jae Myung withdraw the indictment, and that will put the finishing touch on the collapse of this administration."
He continued, "Since taking office, Lee Jae Myung has stripped the people of their basic rights—the right to life and the right to property—through a real estate crisis and a public security crisis, while clinging to the withdrawal of the indictment simply to save his own life." He added, "Meanwhile, Jang Dong-hyuk of the People Power Party is at Olympic Park wearing a flower and beating a drum. This isn't exactly Welcome to Dongmakgol; it's simply a complete mess."
Kim said, "Just as the 1985 founding of the New Democratic Party after overturning the former government-controlled opposition Democratic Korea Party led to an electoral revolution and brought democratization in 1987, I believe now may be the best time for a party revolution." He added, "Shouldn't a party revolution come first in order to complete an electoral revolution?" He continued, "Let us fulfill the party revolution, electoral revolution, and people's revolution by reflecting the aspirations of the people."
Meanwhile, Yong, who had been nominated as minister of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, voluntarily resigned from the nomination on the same day amid controversy over her simultaneously serving as a proportional-representation lawmaker and minister, as well as allegations that she was turning the Basic Income Party into a personal vehicle. The resignation came 14 days after President Lee Jae Myung nominated her.
Kang Yoo-jung, senior presidential secretary and spokesperson for Cheong Wa Dae, said of Yong's voluntary resignation, "We respect her decision." Kang added, "We understand that the nominee made the decision herself in order to reduce the burden it could place on state affairs and people's livelihoods."
She continued, "Any necessary follow-up procedures will be carried out in accordance with the established rules." She added, "Cheong Wa Dae will make every effort in the verification and appointment processes to select officials who meet the standards expected by the public."
