Up to Approximately 1,200 Applicants Failed to Complete Applications Due to Early-Admission System Outage; Relief Measures Begin on the 14th

[Financial News] It is estimated that up to approximately 1,200 applicants failed to complete their applications because of an outage in the university early-admission application system.
The Ministry of Education said on the 13th, "Of the approximately 2.61 million early-admission applications, we estimate that up to approximately 1,200 students were unable to complete their applications because of the system failure."
The Ministry of Education explained that it had prepared relief measures with the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE) in response to the university application system failure. The Ministry of Education and KCUE will accept relief applications from the 14th through the 16th.
Relief applications can be submitted from 9 a.m. on the 14th through 6 p.m. on the 16th via a relief application bulletin board that will be opened on the Uway Apply website, the application agency’s platform.
The Ministry of Education and KCUE said they would thoroughly investigate the application system, including the cause and extent of the failure in the Uway Apply application system, and would hold those responsible legally accountable, including by requesting a criminal investigation if necessary.
Earlier, at around 5:50 p.m. on the 11th, an error occurred in Uway Apply’s application system, leaving some applicants unable to complete their applications and payments normally.
In response, KCUE postponed the application deadline from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., but applicants experienced considerable confusion.
