FSC to Accept Regular Applications for Innovative Financial Services Designation Starting on the 14th

[Financial News] The Financial Services Commission (FSC) will accept regular applications for designation as innovative financial services for the third quarter of 2026 from 9:00 a.m. on the 14th through 6:00 p.m. on the 30th.
According to the FSC on the 13th, companies seeking designation as innovative financial services must review the application instructions in the announcement, prepare the required documents, and submit their applications through the Financial Regulatory Sandbox website.
During the application process, the FSC and the Korea Fintech Center will provide prospective applicants with step-by-step consulting, including legal interpretation and assistance with preparing applications. The Korea Fintech Center has established an expert support group consisting of 73 specialists in fields including law, patents, accounting, and technology. All consulting is free of charge. Applicants can receive comprehensive advice before preparing their applications and obtain reviews of formal requirements after completing them. Small and medium-sized fintech companies can receive comprehensive consulting in areas such as technology, accounting, law, and data through matching with experts from the support group.
 The Financial Regulatory Sandbox website provides information on previously designated innovative financial services and frequently asked questions (FAQ). Applicant companies can also check the progress of their applications, including the review stage and dates, through the website.
The FSC plans to have applications received during this regular announcement period reviewed by the Innovative Financial Services Review Committee within the statutory review period of up to 120 days. It will then make the final decision on whether to designate the services as innovative financial services at a regular FSC meeting.
