[Financial News] Korea Asset Investment Securities is focusing on relationship-based social contribution by maintaining ties with specific welfare facilities rather than relying on one-off donations. The company is shifting the focus of its ESG activities beyond simple financial and in-kind support, encouraging employees to participate directly and increasing contact with beneficiaries.
According to Korea Asset Investment Securities on the 13th, the company visited Isak’s House, a child welfare facility in Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi Province, on the 12th and held a Hope Staircase mural-sharing activity with the children and its employees.
The activity was a participatory program in which employees and children completed the mural together. It was the company’s third joint program with Isak’s House since the two organizations officially established a sister relationship in March, following the Love Barbecue and Mini Sports Day and cultural and experiential activities held during Family Month.
Although ESG is often perceived in the securities industry as the preserve of large financial companies, observers say that for small and midsize securities firms, continuity and employee participation can serve as distinguishing features of social contribution efforts, regardless of scale.
A securities-industry official said, "Rather than making a one-time donation, establishing a partnership with a specific institution and visiting it repeatedly is more effective in creating connections between companies and local communities." The official added, "For small and midsize financial companies, this kind of close-contact social contribution can instead become a practical ESG model."
Ki Dong-ho, chairman of Korea Asset Investment Securities, said, "It was a meaningful time in which the children and employees held paintbrushes together, filled the stairs with a colorful path, and shared a deep connection." He added, "We will continue providing practical and sustained support to help the children grow up healthy."
Meanwhile, Korea Asset Investment Securities has continued community-focused social contribution efforts, including providing heated mats and daily necessities to elderly people living alone in Yeongdeungpo District, as well as employee-participation activities such as briquette and kimchi sharing and helping with farm work in rural communities.
