[Financial News] KT is partnering with global fabless company Amlogic to establish a stable supply chain for key chipsets used in media devices. Beyond supplying system-on-chip (SoC) products, the companies will expand technical cooperation to advance AI-based media functions and services.
KT announced on the 13th that it signed an MOU with Amlogic at IBC 2026, a media exhibition held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from the 11th to the 14th.
The two companies agreed to ensure the smooth supply of key chipsets used in KT Group’s media devices and identify ways to improve supply-chain operating efficiency. Through the agreement, KT aims to respond to risks in the global semiconductor supply chain and enhance the stability and continuity of its media services. It will also continue technical cooperation to advance the AI functions and services of KT’s media devices, in addition to securing a stable supply of SoC solutions.
At IBC 2026, KT is also operating the KT Global Win-Win Growth Pavilion with its media-sector partners. KT has run the program since 2013 to support partner companies seeking to expand overseas beyond the domestic market.
This year, the exhibition hall was established jointly with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Foundation for Cooperation of Large & Small Business, Rural Affairs (KOFCA), after the program was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Joint Overseas Expansion Support Program for Large and Small Businesses. The Amsterdam office of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) is also providing professional staff to help identify potential buyers and facilitate business matching. Eight partner companies are participating in the exhibition: Marsis, Ohseong Electronics, ENERZAi, CASTIS, Rhoonart, Pyler, Steelcut, and XL8 AI.
Kwon Hye-jin, executive vice president and head of KT’s SCM Division, said, "We will continue to develop a public-private cooperation model so that our partners’ technologies and products can lead to the discovery of actual buyers and export results."
