Nonghyup Bank President Kang Tae-young Helps Jeju Tangerine Farmers: “Putting the Spirit of Farmers Is the Spirit of Heaven Into Practice”

On the 13th, Nonghyup Bank announced that President Kang, along with the heads of its regional sales divisions, visited a greenhouse tangerine farm in Seogwipo City, Jeju Province, on the 11th to help with farm work.
The volunteer work took place before a sales division heads’ meeting held over two days and one night from the 11th to review key business issues and discuss future business directions. It was organized to reaffirm the value of agriculture and rural communities, understand farmers’ concerns, and put Nonghyup Bank’s role in supporting agriculture and rural communities into practice in the field.
President Kang and the heads of the sales divisions helped with harvesting and sorting tangerines, gaining firsthand insight into the difficulties faced by farmers.
Nonghyup Bank also supported efforts to expand the farm’s sales channels and promote consumption of domestic agricultural products. The bank plans to purchase approximately 4 tons of greenhouse tangerines and provide them as gifts to outstanding customers nationwide. Through this initiative, it aims to promote the quality of Jeju agricultural products and contribute to revitalizing the local rural economy.
President Kang said, “All of Nonghyup Bank’s businesses must begin with consideration for agriculture, rural communities and farmers.” He added, “Having reaffirmed the meaning of ‘the spirit of farmers is the spirit of heaven’ with the heads of the sales divisions responsible for branches nationwide, Nonghyup Bank will continue to provide practical support to farmers and bring vitality to rural communities.”
