[Financial News] Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd. is presenting a new model for the global business expansion of domestic securities firms by hosting a global IR event in New York for three consecutive years.
Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd. announced on the 13th that it held 'KIS Night in New York 2026' in New York, USA, on the 10th (local time), inviting key figures from global financial institutions.
'KIS Night' is an in-house IR event organized by Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd. to expand the foundation for cooperation with global financial partners and strengthen local networks.
Since its inception in New York in 2024, the event has continued annually and has established itself as Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd.'s flagship global networking event. It is expanding its reach to Hong Kong as well as New York, broadening its contact points with global financial markets.
This year's event was attended by over 150 CEOs and executives from global financial firms and major investment institutions, including PIMCO, J.P. Morgan, The Carlyle Group, Neuberger Berman, and Man Group.
Kim Seong-hwan, President of Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd., personally delivered a speech introducing the growth potential of the Korean financial market and the company's global business strategy, and discussed business expansion and strategic cooperation plans with the attendees.
In his welcoming remarks, President Kim stated, "Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd. is growing rapidly based on a strong network with global partners and is establishing a solid foothold in the Asian market beyond Korea," adding, "Going forward, we will continue to partner with companies possessing diverse financial capabilities to provide differentiated business opportunities to domestic and international investors."
Analysis suggests that the significance of this event lies not in the scale of attendance, but in the fact that relationships with global financial institutions are translating into actual business. Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd. has recently been strengthening cooperative ties with global financial institutions one after another.
On the 7th, a business agreement was signed with Fidelity Investments, and on the 9th, with PIMCO and The Carlyle Group, respectively. It was decided to expand the scope of cooperation to include the expansion of global financial product supply, joint investments, and the supply of global research materials.
George Herbert Walker IV, Chairman and CEO of Neuberger Berman, said, "The active global investment moves shown by Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd. over the past few years have been very impressive," adding, "I look forward to expanding cooperation from alternative investments to the supply of high-quality retail products to achieve global growth for both companies together."
Greg Bond, Group CIO and Head of the Americas at Man Group, and Jeff Nedelman, Co-President of The Carlyle Group, also assessed that the retail product supply and collaboration thus far have laid the foundation for the achievements and mutual growth of both companies.
One of the biggest reasons Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd. is putting effort into expanding its global network is to secure differentiated investment opportunities in the domestic wealth management (WM) market.
In essence, a mutually complementary cooperative structure is being established where Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd. provides its domestic customer base and WM capabilities, while global financial companies provide overseas investment products and operational capabilities.
Meanwhile, Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd.'s moves are noteworthy in that they indicate the overseas expansion of domestic securities firms is evolving beyond the mere establishment of local subsidiaries to a stage where business scopes are being broadened based on networks with global financial institutions.
In particular, by hosting large-scale events in New York for three consecutive years and attracting the participation of key decision-makers from global financial firms, it is evaluated that Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd. is going beyond simple network building to connecting long-term partnerships to actual business.
