[Financial News] Bank of Hope has strengthened the foundation for financial and economic cooperation with the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan ahead of the 'First Korea-Central Asia Summit' to be held in Seoul on the 16th.
Bank of Hope announced on the 13th that it signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan on the 11th for mutual cooperation in the investment and finance sectors.
Through this agreement, Bank of Hope and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan will pursue comprehensive cooperation to identify potential financial cooperation opportunities in Uzbekistan, support Bank of Hope's entry into the Uzbek market, and promote the development and advancement of Uzbekistan's financial industry.
Both organizations plan to support the expansion of investment and trade between companies in both countries, while continuously identifying new opportunities for cooperation in the financial sector to produce tangible results.
Bank of Hope has selected Uzbekistan as a key hub for its expansion into Central Asia and is pursuing the establishment of a local representative office. Once the establishment is completed within the year, the bank plans to review the Central Asian financial market and business opportunities and proceed with a full-scale local expansion strategy.
Bank of Hope plans to strengthen its role as a financial partner connecting Korea and Central Asia based on cooperation with the Uzbek government and local financial institutions. A Bank of Hope official stated, "Taking this agreement as an opportunity, we will further solidify our cooperative relationship with the Uzbek government and identify various collaborative projects that can contribute to the financial and economic development of both countries," adding, "We will expand Bank of Hope's global network and financial capabilities in the Central Asian region, using Uzbekistan as a base."
Meanwhile, Bank of Hope is expanding its footprint in overseas markets. Last April, Bank of Hope signed a trilateral agreement with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND) to strengthen cooperation on infrastructure projects in Vietnam and abroad. The bank plans to establish a cooperation system that links investment development with finance.
