“In Its 41st Year,” Kiturami Group Awards Scholarships to DGIST, GIST and UNIST

[Financial News] Kiturami Group has continued its scholarship program to foster talent in science and technology for more than 40 years. Going beyond simply providing scholarships, the group is expanding its support to include everyone from university students and researchers to engineering professionals, helping build a long-term ecosystem for science and technology talent.
 According to industry sources on the 13th, Kiturami Group sponsored a total of 200 million won in Kiturami Scholarships for 120 students enrolled at Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST), Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), and Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST).
 After providing 50 million won in scholarships to 50 DGIST students on July 24, Kiturami Group awarded 50 million won to 20 GIST students on the 4th and 100 million won to 50 UNIST students on the 11th.
 The Kiturami Scholarship program has continued for 41 years since founder and Chairman Choi Jin-min established the Kiturami Cultural Foundation in 1985 with funds from his personal assets. To date, it has supported more than 70,000 scholarship recipients.
 In addition, Kiturami has sponsored the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK) Grand Prize for 30 years since 1997, identifying engineering professionals who have contributed to South Korea’s industrial development and supporting their research activities. This year, it increased the total prize money for the NAEK Grand Prize to 600 million won.
 Kiturami also operates the Kiturami Academic Award with the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating Engineers of Korea, the Korean Society of Combustion, and the Korean Fluid Machinery Association, supporting outstanding researchers and full-time faculty members.
 Chairman Choi Jin-min said, “We will continue to provide sustained interest and support so that the key contributors to the development of science and technology in our country—from students to researchers and engineering professionals—can grow.”
