Woori Financial Group Expands Support for Restoring Study Spaces for Children Affected by Flooding in Geoje Through ‘Woori Dream Study Room’

[Financial News] Woori Financial Group’s Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation is expanding support through its ‘Woori Dream Study Room’ program to create stable learning environments for children and adolescents in Geoje affected by recent torrential rains.
On the 13th, Woori Financial Group’s Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation announced that it would provide emergency assistance to children and adolescents in Geoje affected by the torrential rains. For children and adolescents aged 8 to 19, the foundation will repair wallpaper and flooring in flooded study spaces and provide study furniture, including desks, bookcases, and chairs.
Woori Dream Study Room is the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation’s flagship social-contribution program, providing study furniture such as desks, chairs, and bookcases to children and adolescents from multicultural families and underserved groups who need improved learning environments. This year, the foundation is providing study furniture to 105 households, benefiting 167 people nationwide.
The additional support will cover approximately 30 households. Including these beneficiaries, more than 200 children and adolescents will receive study furniture and improvements to their learning spaces through Woori Dream Study Room this year.
Meanwhile, the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation helps multicultural families and adolescents from underserved groups achieve stable growth and independence through various social-contribution activities in scholarships, education, welfare, and communication, including one of the largest scholarship programs in South Korea. The foundation also operates scholarship programs for multicultural students. This year, it selected 1,200 scholarship recipients and provided KRW 2.3 billion in scholarships. Since 2012, it has selected a total of 8,870 multicultural scholarship recipients and awarded approximately KRW 12.2 billion in scholarships.
