[Financial News] Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon criticized the police investigating a complaint against him and the Democratic Party of Korea. Targeting Democratic Party of Korea leader Kim Min-seok, he claimed, "After barking, he lacks the courage to bite, so he is mobilizing the police."
On the 12th, Han Dong-hoon wrote on Facebook, "I have never seen the police move this quickly after receiving a single politically motivated complaint with no specific details or evidence," adding, "Have the police also decided to become the teeth of the Democratic Party’s big brothers?"
Targeting Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker Kim Dong-ah, who filed the complaint against him, he said, "Moreover, that Democratic Party lawmaker whom the Democratic Party is sending to the police is a lawyer for Lee Jae-myung in the Daejang-dong case. Have a beautiful love." Kim Dong-ah previously represented Jeong Jin-sang, a former senior political affairs coordination chief to the Democratic Party leader, in the Daejang-dong case.
Han Dong-hoon also criticized the police, asking, "With public safety full of holes following the abolition of supplementary investigations, do you really have so little else to do?" He continued, "The train keeps moving even when a dog barks. I will keep moving forward, looking only to the people."
The complaint followed Han Dong-hoon’s disclosure of a document reportedly prepared by the prosecution investigation team during his efforts to raise allegations that Minister of Justice nominee Kim Seung-won solicited favors for approval of a new drug clinical trial. Kim Dong-ah filed the complaint with the National Office of Investigation on the 7th, alleging that the disclosure constituted the leaking of official secrets and violations of the Personal Information Protection Act and the Public Records Management Act.
Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Station plans to summon Kim Dong-ah on the 13th for complainant questioning.
After questioning the complainant, police plan to review whether it is necessary to question Han Dong-hoon.
