Server Crashes Just Before Early Admissions Deadline; Relief for Applicants Unable to Submit Comes Under Scrutiny

[Financial News] A server outage occurred at Uway Apply on the 11th, the final day for submitting applications for the 2027 academic-year university early admissions program. Although the deadline was extended by one hour after connections were lost just before closing, some applicants reportedly failed to complete their submissions.
According to the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE) on the 12th, the error occurred at around 5:50 p.m. the previous day. The server went down as users flooded the system, and service was restored at around 6:20 p.m., approximately 30 minutes later.
KCUE postponed the application deadline from the originally scheduled 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in consideration of the inconvenience caused by the outage. For applicants who still could not complete their submissions despite the extension, KCUE decided to pursue remedial procedures in consultation with the relevant universities.
Whether relief will be granted will be discussed after reviewing system usage records and other information. KCUE explained, "For applicants whose applications were saved in the system or who encountered an error during the payment process, we will verify the facts and consult with the universities on subsequent procedures."
This year, applications for early admissions to four-year universities were accepted for at least three days at each university between the 7th and 11th. Because application schedules vary by school, applicants must check the deadline date and time for each university individually.
