JCS Reports North Korea Fired Several Ballistic Missiles Toward the East Sea From the Wonsan Area (Updated)

[Financial News] The Republic of Korea Joint Chiefs of Staff (ROK JCS) said on the 12th, "Our military detected several ballistic missiles launched from the Wonsan area of North Korea toward the East Sea at around 5:20 a.m. today."
The ROK JCS added that surveillance and vigilance have been strengthened in preparation for additional launches. South Korea-U.S.-Japan are also closely sharing information on North Korea’s ballistic missiles and maintaining full readiness.
North Korea’s ballistic missile provocation on this day was the first such incident in 23 days. The military is analyzing the specific types and specifications of the projectiles.
Earlier, on the afternoon of August 20, North Korea launched more than 10 short-range ballistic missiles in a barrage toward the East Sea. The missiles flew approximately 300 km.
