Duksung Women’s University’s Early-Admission Competition Ratio Reaches 21.10 to 1; Essay-Based College of Pharmacy Admission Hits 307.60 to 1

Duksung Women’s University’s competition ratio for its 2027 early admissions reached 21.10 to 1, up from last year’s 17.70 to 1. The essay-based College of Pharmacy admission drew 1,538 applicants for five places, recording the highest ratio at 307.60 to 1.
Duksung Women’s University announced on the 11th that it had received 16,858 applications for 799 places when it closed applications for its 2027 early admissions. Last year, 13,879 applicants applied for 784 places, resulting in a ratio of 17.70 to 1. This year’s ratio was 3.40 higher than the previous year’s.
By admission type, essay-based admission recorded the highest ratio at 67.64 to 1. Practical art examination admission stood at 31.75 to 1, Duksung Talent Admission II at 13.33 to 1, and Opportunity Balance Admission II for social integration at 12.47 to 1.
High School Recommendation Admission recorded a ratio of 9.63 to 1, Duksung Talent Admission I 8.50 to 1, and Opportunity Balance Admission I for social integration 5.48 to 1.
By admission unit, the essay-based College of Pharmacy recorded a particularly high ratio. It received 1,538 applications for five places, resulting in 307.60 to 1. The essay-based College of Global Convergence (Humanities and Social Sciences) received 5,515 applications for 65 places, recording 84.85 to 1.
Under practical art examination admission, the Basic Design track received 1,496 applications for 26 places, recording 57.54 to 1. The essay-based College of Science and Technology stood at 21.28 to 1, while Duksung Talent Admission II for the College of Science and Technology stood at 18.65 to 1.
Among the admission units in the College of Future Talent, the Department of Data Science received 256 applications for 25 places, recording 10.24 to 1. The Division of Undeclared Majors received 1,636 applications for 180 places, recording 9.09 to 1. The Department of AI New Drug Development received 194 applications for 25 places, recording 7.76 to 1, while VR Convergence Engineering received 181 applications for 25 places, recording 7.24 to 1.
Among admissions outside the regular quota, Opportunity Balance Admission I for applicants including people with disabilities recorded the highest ratio at 13.00 to 1. Opportunity Balance Admission I for recipients of basic livelihood security and others stood at 10.05 to 1, Opportunity Balance Admission I for specialized high schools at 9.67 to 1, and Opportunity Balance Admission I for students from rural and fishing communities at 7.16 to 1.
Duksung Women’s University will conduct practical art examinations on October 17 and 18. First-round successful applicants for Duksung Talent Admission II and Opportunity Balance Admission I for applicants including people with disabilities will be announced on November 12, with interviews scheduled for November 21 and 22. The essay examination will be held on November 29.
Initially admitted students will be announced on December 18, while students admitted from the waitlist will be announced from December 23 through 29.
