Hwadam Botanic Garden in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 10th that it will begin accepting advance reservations at 1 p.m. on the 16th ahead of its Autumn Foliage Festival.
This year’s festival will run from Oct. 23 to Nov. 15. To ensure a comfortable viewing experience, attendance will be limited to about 1,000 people per hour and 11,000 people per day.
Hwadam Botanic Garden is a 50,000-pyeong ecological arboretum featuring 16 themed gardens and more than 400 varieties of maple trees. Korean maple, sugar maple, trident maple and Norway maple trees are expected to display red and yellow foliage.
The monorail will also operate through an online advance reservation system. Visitors may reserve no more seats than the number of admission tickets they purchase, while departures from Platforms 2 and 3 may be purchased on-site, subject to remaining availability.
Meanwhile, ahead of the peak foliage season, Hwadam Botanic Garden will offer early-autumn ecological observation programs featuring chrysanthemums and wildflowers. Konjiam Resort will also introduce desserts inspired by Hwadam Botanic Garden’s acorns.
