Police Investigation Reform Committee Visits Gangnam Station for On-Site Meeting, Hears Investigators’ Concerns

[Financial News] The Police Investigation Reform Committee visited a frontline police station and heard investigators’ concerns about caseloads, staffing and expertise.
The Police Investigation Reform Committee said on the 11th that it visited Seoul Gangnam Police Station and held an on-site meeting with frontline investigators.
The meeting covered the initial investigation procedures carried out after a 112 emergency call and case intake, as well as the reporting and command structure for major cases.
The committee also heard about difficulties raised in the field, including investigators’ caseloads, securing investigative personnel and expertise, and personnel and training systems in investigative departments. It also gathered views on areas requiring institutional improvements.
The committee plans to actively reflect the views presented at the meeting in future discussions on strengthening the police’s investigative capabilities and improving the investigation system.
