According to police on the 11th, Seoul Nowon Police Station will strengthen traffic management around the venue and prevention and enforcement efforts against drunk driving in preparation for the 2026 Nowon Craft Beer Festival, which will be held on the 12th and 13th in and around Hwarangdae Railroad Park.
With many visitors and vehicles expected during the festival, police will deploy traffic officers at major intersections near the venue and along areas expected to become congested. They will also work to protect pedestrians by encouraging vehicles to slow down during periods when large crowds of pedestrians are expected.
Police will also intensify drunk-driving enforcement. Random checks will be conducted not only around the festival venue but also on major roads throughout the jurisdiction, with the time and location changed frequently.
The enforcement will cover not only the hours when the festival ends but also daytime drinking and driving while hungover the following day.
Bicycles and personal mobility devices, including electric scooters, will also be subject to drunk-driving enforcement, along with cars. Police urged caution, noting that riding a bicycle or electric scooter after drinking is also subject to enforcement.
A police official said, "Please use public transportation instead of driving whenever possible. If you have to bring a vehicle, choose a safe way to get home, such as using a designated-driver service if you have been drinking." The official added, "We will make every effort to manage traffic and enforce drunk-driving laws so that citizens can enjoy the festival and return home safely."
