According to LH on the 11th, ‘Garden Festa 2.0’ began at Goyang Janghang Complex 1 in July and will be held sequentially through November at Incheon Geomdan Complexes 37 and 38, Hwaseong Dongtan 2 Complex 38, and Pyeongtaek Godeok Complex 12.
Garden Festa 2.0 is a participatory program in which residents work together to care for outdoor landscaping spaces in their apartment complexes. Beyond simple landscaping maintenance, it is designed to bring residents of different age groups together and encourage interaction through nature.
On the 10th, the ‘Making a Tree Friend in Our Neighborhood’ program was held at Incheon Geomdan Complexes 37 and 38 for residents’ children. The children chose one of the trees in the complex as their own ‘tree friend,’ cared for it themselves, and experienced nature firsthand.
On the 11th, the ‘Aromatherapy Gardening’ program was held for older residents of the same complexes. Participants learned about the characteristics of herbs that can be grown at home and practical wellness activities they could incorporate into their daily lives.
LH first operated the program last year at three complexes, including Pyeongtaek Godeok Complex 2 and Hwaseong Namyang New Town Complex 20. Satisfaction surveys conducted at two of those complexes recorded an average satisfaction rate of approximately 92%.
An LH official said, "We expect this to provide an opportunity to strengthen bonds among neighbors through activities in which residents take the lead and to foster a residential culture of caring for shared spaces together."
