Dong-A University’s Ssireum Team Wins Three National Team Titles This Year

[Financial News] Dong-A University announced on the 11th that its ssireum team won the university team event at the 2nd Samcheok Isabu General National Jangsa Ssireum Tournament.
Dong-A University fielded Taeyong Seong, Jeong Seong-jae, Kim Seong-guk, Park Seong-beom, Kim Min-gyu, Lee Su-yong and Shin Geon in the university team event. After defeating Hallym University 4–2 in the semifinals, the team beat Kyonggi University (KGU) 4–1 in the final to claim the title.
The team also performed well in the individual events. Jeong Seong-jae won the Sojang class (under 80 kg), securing his fourth individual title of the season. Taeyong Seong finished runner-up in the Gyeongjang class (under 75 kg).
Earlier this year, Dong-A University won the team events at the Samcheok Jeongwol Daeboreum Festival National University Jangsa Ssireum Tournament and the Haksan Kim Seong-ryul Jangsa National Ssireum Tournament. With its victory in this competition, the university achieved the feat of winning three national team-event titles this year.
Seong-woo Ha, who led Dong-A University to the championship, received the Outstanding Coach Award. Ha said, "I am proud of the athletes who did their best and demonstrated their abilities despite the demanding training and schedule leading up to the national tournament."
