Marine Corps to Hold Military Band Concert Commemorating the Battle of Incheon

[Financial News Incheon = Reporter Han Gap-su] The Republic of Korea Marine Corps (ROK Marine Corps) will hold a military band concert with Incheon Metropolitan City to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Incheon.
The Republic of Korea Marine Corps announced that it will hold its regular military band concert, titled "With Incheon Citizens," at 7 p.m. on the 11th at the main auditorium of the Incheon Culture and Arts Center under the theme "A Great Victory! Together with the People."
About 80 performers will take part, including the Republic of Korea Marine Corps Band, honor guard, Incheon City Children's Choir, singer Lee Younghyun, and actor Yu Mu-seon.
Under the theme "Beyond the Waves of Victory: Incheon and the Marine Corps," the performance will present the Battle of Incheon in six acts—"Decision," "Mission," "Comrades," "Landing," "Victory of the Invincible Marines," and "Incheon, a Sea Embracing Peace"—in a production combining military music and musical theater.
The opening musical will recreate the process leading up to Douglas MacArthur's decision to launch the Battle of Incheon. The performance will then portray the troops' resolve and comradeship as they prepared for the landing, as well as the operation's success and the history of the Marine Corps through music and performances. In the finale, Lee Younghyun will appear alongside the Republic of Korea Marine Corps Band and honor guard to reflect on the meaning of peace and freedom.
Ju Il Seok, Commandant of the Republic of Korea Marine Corps, asked for the public's interest and support, saying, "I hope this concert will serve as an opportunity to remember the victories achieved by our senior Marines and war veterans and to convey the preciousness of freedom and peace to future generations."
Meanwhile, the Republic of Korea Marine Corps plans to commemorate the history of victory stretching from Jeju Province to Incheon Metropolitan City and Seoul with the public. It will hold the 76th-anniversary commemoration of the victory in the Battle of Incheon on the 15th, followed by the 76th-anniversary commemoration of the victory in the Seoul recapture operation on the 19th.
