[Financial News] Ahead of Chuseok, Lotte Mart and Lotte Super provided food assistance and digital device training for older adults from vulnerable groups in the local community.
According to industry sources on the 11th, Lotte Mart and Lotte Super visited the Munjeong Senior Welfare Center in Songpa District, Seoul, the previous day and distributed three Oneuljoeun private-label meal kits to 80 older adults. Twenty-three officials attended the event, including Kim Beom-chang, head of the HR Innovation Division at Lotte Mart and Lotte Super; Park Chan-wook, head of the ESG Sharing Division at Hope Friend Hunger Countermeasures; and Lee Soon-ho, director of the Munjeong Senior Welfare Center.
Along with the food assistance, the companies also offered training on using kiosks and mobile applications. Employees from Lotte Mart and Lotte Super explained how to purchase products, shop for groceries online, collect points and check receipts—functions needed in everyday life.
The participating older adults visited the Lotte Mart Songpa Branch and practiced purchasing products using the kiosks installed in the actual store. Lotte Mart and Lotte Super explained that the program focused not only on one-time material support but also on improving access to digital services.
Kim Beom-chang, head of the HR Innovation Division at Lotte Mart and Lotte Super, said, “We organized this program so that, in addition to delivering warm food to seniors for Chuseok, they could directly experience and learn to use digital devices they frequently encounter in daily life.” He added, “We will continue our social contribution activities so they can provide practical help to underserved members of local communities.”
