[Financial News] Lotteria has launched on-site social contribution activities to prevent pedestrian accidents involving elementary school students and improve drivers' safety awareness within protected zones, coinciding with the start of the school year.
Lotteria, a burger franchise operated by LOTTE GRS, announced on the 11th that it conducted a traffic safety campaign for school routes with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to create safe routes for children to commute to school.
This campaign is part of the 'Children's Traffic Safety Business Agreement' signed between Lotteria and the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency last June, and was planned to spread a culture of safe driving in school zones and strengthen pedestrian safety in time for the new fall semester.
On the 10th, about 70 people, including LOTTE GRS officials, the Deputy Chief of Public Safety at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, the Chief of the Seoul Gangseo Police Station, and officials from related agencies, participated in a campaign held on the school route in front of Seoul Airport Elementary School to lead a joint civilian-police traffic safety culture for children.
On this day, Lotteria distributed yellow cards to improve the visibility of child pedestrians and prevent traffic accidents. In addition, together with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, they informed the public of pedestrian safety rules and promoted the 'Good Driving Campaign' to drivers, which includes prohibiting signal violations and illegal parking in school zones, and stopping before crosswalks.
Starting with this activity, Lotteria plans to sequentially deliver 31,000 yellow cards bearing the slogan "Please stop, children are passing by" to lower-grade elementary school students in Seoul.
"We launched this on-site campaign in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to contribute to creating an environment where children can commute to school with peace of mind," said a LOTTE GRS official. "We will continue to conduct on-site campaigns at elementary schools and take the lead in establishing a culture of child safety by utilizing our various online and offline platforms."
