[Financial News] Samsung Securities is joining forces with the KAIST Development Foundation to promote a culture of charitable giving.
Samsung Securities announced on the 11th that it had signed an agreement with the KAIST Development Foundation to expand charitable giving through trusts. The signing ceremony was held at the KAIST main building in Daejeon on the 8th.
The agreement was established to provide consultations and support so that prospective donors can use Samsung Securities’ charitable trust product, Give You Trust, and its estate-donation solution based on a will-substitute trust.
Give You Trust is a lifetime charitable trust product under which the trust principal is transferred to the designated beneficiary organization when the trust term ends. Donors can receive a tax deduction on the principal when they initially establish the trust, while investment gains generated during the trust term belong to the donor.
The estate-donation solution based on a will-substitute trust allows donors to have their assets managed during their lifetime and donate all or part of those assets to a designated beneficiary organization after death, according to conditions set in advance.
Through the agreement, the two organizations agreed to actively cooperate in areas including the design of customized lifetime and will-substitute trust services that reflect donors’ assets and needs, as well as comprehensive asset-management consulting using financial, legal and tax professionals.
Kim Ye-na, head of Samsung Securities’ Heritage Solutions Division, said, "Customers’ interest in estate donations and trusts has been growing recently. Based on Samsung Securities’ differentiated trust solutions and asset-management capabilities, we will provide optimal financial services so that donors can participate in charitable giving with confidence."
