On the 11th, KakaoBank Corp announced the launch of the 'Gold Collecting' service, which allows users to accumulate physical gold in small amounts over a set period through a partnership with the physical gold trading platform 'Keumbang.'
The Gold Collection Service is designed to allow customers to steadily accumulate gold over 26 weeks after setting a desired target weight. Its key feature is going beyond simply purchasing gold to setting and achieving goals.
KakaoBank Corp explained, "We launched this partnership service to enable customers who are interested in physical gold but found it difficult and burdensome to collect gold easily and enjoyably."
Customers can select their desired target weight from 1 don to 2, 3, 5, or 10 don. After signing up, gold is purchased in installments via automatic transfer over 26 weeks according to the selected weight. The current gold market price is applied each week.
Since you purchase in small increments over a set period, you can distribute the burden of price fluctuations. You do not need to check market prices every time or worry about the timing of your purchase.
The gold collected each week is purchased as physical gold and safely stored in specialized vaults at KSD and its partners. Once the target weight is reached, customers can utilize a free storage service or sell the gold at their desired time to receive cash. Depending on customer preference, it is also possible to receive physical gold products such as gold bars or accessories.
This service is available in the 'Accumulate' section of the Investment tab within the KakaoBank Corp app. KakaoBank Corp provides customer touchpoints and access channels for the partnership service, while the partner, Keumbang, is responsible for service planning and development, as well as related operations such as the purchase and storage of physical gold.
