Everland's youngest baby panda is named 'Shubao'... Grew 30-fold in 100 days

Everland's youngest baby panda has been named 'Shubao'.
Everland, operated by Samsung C&T Resort Group, announced on the 11th that it had confirmed the name of its fourth panda, who had reached 100 days old, as 'Shubao'. Meaning 'a treasure as bright as the dawn light,' the name incorporates the character 'Bao' (宝), following Fu Bao, Rui Bao, and Hui Bao.
The name was decided through a public contest and voting process that took place over approximately two months starting last July. More than 10,000 people participated in the first round of the contest, and 220,000 votes were cast in the second round of voting, which involved five candidates selected by zookeepers and veterinarians. Shubao was selected as the final name with 42% of the votes, beating out Fubao (30%) and Not_found (17%).
Shubao weighed only 171g at birth, but his current weight exceeds 5.5kg, meaning he has grown more than 30-fold in the 100 days since his birth. He is growing healthily under the care of his mother Hua Ni and the close supervision of zookeepers, and is progressing smoothly through his growth stages, including beginning to grow teeth.
Everland is considering opening Shubao to the public within the year, taking into account his growth rate and adaptation to the external environment.
Zookeeper Kang Cheol-won said, "Thanks to the warm interest and love of the entire nation, Shubao was able to grow up healthy and beautiful through his 100th day," adding, "We ask for your continued support and affection."
