Chin Jung-kwon: "Kim Min-seok Seems Determined to Turn Han Dong-hoon into Another YS"

[Financial News] Chin Jung-kwon, a professor at Dongyang University, criticized Democratic Party of Korea leader Kim Min-seok for announcing plans to pursue Han Dong-hoon's expulsion from the National Assembly or suspension of his parliamentary qualifications. "Kim Min-seok seems determined to turn Han Dong-hoon into another YS," he said.
On the 10th, Chin wrote on social media, "The irony of history is that the Democratic Party of Korea is now doing what was done under the dictatorship of Park Chung Hee," adding, "I suppose they must be as desperate as they were back then."
The remark was understood as a reference to the 1979 expulsion of former President Kim Young-sam, who was then chairman of the New Democratic Party, from the National Assembly. At the time, the ruling Democratic Republican Party processed a motion to expel Kim Young-sam from the legislature.
Chin criticized the party, saying, "Is this saying that although the values proclaimed publicly may differ, the nature of power is ultimately the same?" He added, "The Democratic Party of Korea's current state is merely that of the final days of the Park Chung Hee regime."
He then criticized the Democratic Party of Korea's response to the controversies surrounding Kim Seung-won, the nominee for minister of justice, and Yong Hye-in, the nominee for minister of gender equality and family.
He argued, "If they had sound judgment, they should have dealt with this before so much came to light," adding, "Because they resorted to the reckless move of forcibly defending what cannot be defended, they keep getting beaten every time—even in a 160-to-1 matchup."
He continued, "After conceding goal after goal, they are now saying they will move the football association to strip the opposing striker of his eligibility because they cannot win otherwise." He added, "They must really be furious."
Addressing Kim Min-seok, Chin emphasized, "I will tell you how to get out of this quagmire, so write it down in your notebook: not 'Han Dong-hoon OUT,' but 'Kim Seung-won and Yong Hye-in OUT.'"
He went on, "Since they sit in the National Assembly with an answer key of wrong answers, they are getting their noses bloodied by a single libero despite leading that entire army." He added, "The beating they will receive from the public in the future will be on an entirely different level."
Finally, Chin added, "Please, let's proceed with common sense," followed by, "Perhaps Jung Cheong-rae would have been preferable."
