ChatGPT for Kakao Lets Users Shop on Daiso and Use Shinhan Card

[Financial News] The scope of artificial intelligence (AI) agent use is expanding, with users able to search for Daiso products and access Shinhan Card services through Kakao's ChatGPT chat window. Kakao is adding external services in various fields, including shopping, finance and shared spaces, to expand its agentic AI ecosystem.
Kakao announced on the 11th that it had added services from seven partner companies to Kakao Tools within ChatGPT for Kakao. Kakao Tools is an AI agent service that connects with various services inside and outside Kakao. Users can chat in the ChatGPT for Kakao window and access functions provided by connected partners.
The newly added partners are Daiso Mall, Lookthrough, SpaceCloud, Shinsegae Duty Free, Shinhan Card, LF Mall and Cheongyeon. This is Kakao's second partner collaboration following the expansion and reorganization of Kakao Tools in March. Including OP.GG, Zigbang and Hanatour, which were previously connected, there are now 10 external partners in total.
Kakao Tools currently connects 28 services in total, including services from Kakao, its affiliates and external partners. Kakao plans to continue working with partners that have expertise in their respective fields and expand opportunities for users to apply AI in their daily lives.
AI tools developed by individual developers will also be introduced through Kakao Tools. Kakao will showcase the finalists of Agentic Player 10, a Kakao Tools development contest based on PlayMCP that began in June, in the Tool Challenge menu starting on the 16th. Twenty services that passed the preliminary screening will be made available, allowing users to try the tools themselves. Kakao plans to broaden users' choices by adding services from individual developers, as well as partner companies, to Kakao Tools.
