Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry to Hold 'Nonviolent Communication' Workshop for Guardians of Sponsored Children

[Financial News] Guardians of sponsored children in Korea learn 'nonviolent communication' to resolve conflicts between parents and children in a healthy way.
According to Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry on the 11th, a 'Nonviolent Communication Workshop' will be held from today through the 12th at the Dream Training Center in Muju County, North Jeolla Province. As part of the 'Expectation Parent School,' a program aimed at strengthening parenting capabilities and providing emotional support, 20 guardians from families of sponsored children in Korea will participate.
Participants reflect on their everyday conversational styles and learn how to express emotions in a healthy way and communicate empathetically. Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry organized the training based on the understanding that caregivers' depression and reduced confidence in parenting can affect children's emotional well-being and growth.
A key feature of the program is its design, which combines education with follow-up meetings so that the communication skills learned can become part of participants' actual parenting practices. After the workshop concludes, a monthly book club will be held to apply monthly practice assignments at home, share experiences among participants, and maintain supportive relationships.
Jang So-young, head of domestic operations at Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry, said, "I hope the Expectation Parent School will go beyond simple parenting education and become a time for guardians to reflect on themselves and regain their strength in parenting," adding that she hopes participants will gain the strength to build healthy families.
