Gyeongbokgung Palace Music Concert to be held from October 2 to 5... Sujecheon and ballet on one stage

[Financial News] Korean court music 'Sujecheon' and Western court dance ballet will take the stage together at Gyeongbokgung Palace on an autumn night.
According to the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center of the Korea Heritage Service and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation on the 11th, the 2026 second-half palace music concert 'Ballet × Sujecheon' will be held at Jibokjae in Gyeongbokgung Palace, Jongno-gu, Seoul, every day at 7 p.m. from October 2 to 5.
Now in its fifth year since debuting in 2022, this performance has sold out every show for the past four years. Jibokjae is a building that King Gojong used as a study and a reception space for foreign envoys. In 2016, it opened as a small library to welcome the general public.
Approximately 90 artists, including the K-Arts Ballet of the Korea National University of Arts, the Sujecheon Project, and Uhee Company, will present a total of three acts over 70 minutes. The direction is handled by Jo Joo Hyun, a professor in the Department of Practical Dance at the Korea National University of Arts.
The first act, 'Ballet Jeongjae,' adds classical ballet to the Yeongsinhuimun section of Botaepyeong in Jongmyo Jeryeak. The second act, 'Ballet Fantasy,' showcases the combination of folk songs and romantic ballet, as well as Chimhyangmu and ballet. The third act, 'Ballet Binari,' weaves together samulnori and contemporary ballet.
The composition features variations in each act by combining court music, folk songs, and samulnori with classical, romantic, and contemporary ballet in different ways.
Reservations will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 5 p.m. on the 11th. Domestic visitors can make reservations via Ticketlink, while international visitors can do so via Creatrip; the capacity per session is 450 and 100, respectively. Each person may apply for up to four tickets, and seating is assigned. The admission fee is 20,000 won.
Individuals aged 65 or older, persons with disabilities, and persons of national merit can also apply by phone. Persons with severe disabilities and one accompanying person are eligible for a 50% discount on admission tickets, while persons with mild disabilities and persons of national merit are eligible for the discount for themselves only.
