KOMSCO Launches Year of the Goat Silver Bar for 2027

[Financial News] Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) announced on the 14th that it will launch its Year of the Goat Silver Bar ahead of 2027, the Year of the Goat (Jeongmi).
This is the first silver bar with a twelve zodiac animals design launched by KOMSCO. Made of 99.99% pure silver and weighing 1,000g, it features a sophisticated goat-inspired design. The product combines the intrinsic value of physical silver with the symbolic significance of welcoming the new year.
The Year of the Goat Silver Bar reinterprets the goat’s traditional image as a symbol of gentleness, peace and prosperity through a modern lens. KOMSCO explained that it developed the product so customers could preserve a special moment commemorating the 2027 Year of the Goat or use it as a gift for the new year.
The twelve zodiac animals have long been familiar symbols of life in Korean culture. They have been widely used to commemorate one’s zodiac sign and as gifts wishing recipients good fortune in the new year. Beginning with this launch, KOMSCO plans to expand its line of premium collectible and investment products by combining the cultural symbolism of the zodiac animals with the asset value of precious metals.
The silver bar will first be unveiled exclusively at KOMSCO’s offline Currency Products Sales Center on Dokmak-ro in Mapo District, Seoul, near Exit 5 of Gwangheungchang Station. Starting in October, sales outlets will be expanded nationwide through KOMSCO’s official online shopping mall.
KOMSCO President Sung Chang-hoon said, "This Year of the Goat Silver Bar is especially meaningful because it is the first zodiac-themed silver bar introduced by KOMSCO." He added, "We hope it will become a premium collectible that preserves not only silver’s intrinsic asset value, but also the warm symbolism of the Year of the Goat and the special moments in people’s lives."
