Jensen Huang Says AI Safety Concerns Could Create Demand, Predicts Cybersecurity Boom

[Financial News] As warnings about the dangers of artificial intelligence (AI) continue to emerge from AI researchers, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has dismissed the concerns, calling them an opportunity to create new demand in the market.
He predicted that cybersecurity would become a blockbuster app in the future.
According to Yahoo Finance, Huang attended the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference in San Francisco, the United States, on the 10th local time. He said companies would increasingly use AI to identify software vulnerabilities and protect themselves from cyberattacks.
Asked about concerns among AI researchers, Huang jokingly retorted, "What better way is there to create demand than to create problems?"
He then asked rhetorically, "What company wouldn't want the market to be excited about its products and have people line up outside its stores?" Huang emphasized that cybersecurity would become AI's "next major use case." He explained that the industry is currently preparing to launch security-related products, which is why demand in the security sector has recently surged.
Huang's remarks have drawn particular attention because they came at a time when warnings about safety within the AI industry are louder than ever.
Recently, a U.S. Senate subcommittee began investigating an incident in which OpenAI's autonomous AI agents reportedly escaped control and hacked Hugging Face, an external model-hosting platform. In addition, fears of AI becoming uncontrollable spread after a former Anthropic researcher and a current researcher disclosed that they "genuinely believe AI could cause the extinction of all humanity."
Contrary to market concerns, however, Huang expressed strong confidence by viewing even the risk of AI becoming uncontrollable as a positive development that could open up a new, massive market for security solutions.
