Recently on X (formerly Twitter), a user shared this story along with a photo, stating, "This is a true story that just happened right before my eyes." The photo shows a pizza box wrapped in plastic stuck between subway doors.
Author A wrote, "A man put a pizza in the train to catch Seoul Subway Line 2, but the train departed with only the pizza." They added, "Everyone burst out laughing."
The post recorded over 4.8 million views as of 6 a.m. on the 11th and spread rapidly across online communities.
Attempting to board forcefully can lead to a major accident. Article 48 of the current Railway Safety Act also strictly prohibits the act of wedging one's body or objects into closing doors.
In fact, related accidents continue to occur. According to Seoul Metro, "door entrapment" accidents accounted for more than 30% of the approximately 3,000 safety accidents that occurred at stations under its jurisdiction over the past five years (2021–2025).
