Seungri Sued Again Three Years After Release from Prison—This Time on Suspicion of Special Assault

[Financial News] Former BigBang member Seungri, 36, whose legal name is Lee Seung-hyun, has been sued on suspicion of special assault.
According to Yonhap News Agency on the 10th, Seoul Gangnam Police Station received a criminal complaint against Seungri on the 25th of last month. The complaint reportedly called for Seungri to be punished for special assault.
Seungri is accused of assaulting a man in his 30s who was dining with him at a restaurant in Gangnam-gu. Police are investigating the specific circumstances of the incident based on the complaint.
Seungri debuted as a member of BigBang in 2006. However, he left the group after being identified in 2019 as a key figure in the so-called “Burning Sun scandal.” In connection with the case, he was sentenced to one year and six months in prison for nine charges, including violation of the law (embezzlement) and instigating special assault. He was released in February 2023.
