Han Dong-hoon on Yong Hye-in's Press Conference: "Do You Feel Wronged That They Are Trying to Protect Only Kim Seung-won?"

[Financial News] Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon on the 10th took aim at the Democratic Party of Korea and Kim Seung-won, a nominee for minister of justice, over an emergency press conference held by Yong Hye-in, nominee for minister of gender equality and family. He criticized the party, suggesting that it was trying to protect Kim Seung-won rather than Yong Hye-in.

Han Dong-hoon posted media reports about Yong Hye-in's press conference on Facebook that day. He wrote, "Nominee Yong Hye-in, do you feel wronged that the Democratic Party of Korea abandoned you early on and is stubbornly trying to protect only nominee Kim Seung-won, even though Kim Seung-won is at least as problematic as you are?"
Han Dong-hoon continued, "There is no reason for you to feel wronged," and claimed, "Nominee Kim Seung-won, the 'oppa lobbyist,' will never become minister of justice. If he does, the Lee Jae Myung administration of the Democratic Party of Korea will collapse."
Earlier that day, Yong Hye-in held an emergency press conference at the National Assembly Communication Center. She directly stated her position on the controversy over simultaneously holding a proportional-representation lawmaker's seat and a ministerial post, the Basic Income Party's issue involving state subsidies, and the so-called allegations of 'ghost provincial and metropolitan party chapters.'
Yong Hye-in also explained why she held the press conference. She said, "The confirmation hearing schedule has not even been set," adding, "The People Power Party's unreasonable demands may be the reason, but it is unfortunate that some within the Democratic Party of Korea are also being swept up in speculation. I am stating my position because I thought it would be better to explain the matter fully to the public."
Yong Hye-in also reaffirmed her previous position that she would serve as minister while retaining her proportional-representation lawmaker's seat. She made clear that she would not comply with calls to resign from the National Assembly.
