Suyeong District, Busan Wins Grand Prize at 2026 Youth-Friendly Legislative Awards

[Financial News] Suyeong District, Busan, announced on the 10th that it won the grand prize at the 2026 Youth-Friendly Legislative Awards ceremony held on the 9th in a conference room at the National Assembly Members' Office Building.
Now in its ninth year, the Youth-Friendly Legislative Awards are presented by the incorporated association Youth and Future after comprehensively evaluating the youth-friendliness of metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide in the areas of policy, legislation, and communication.
The district received high marks for implementing various policies to improve young people's quality of life, including expanding youth-oriented policies and budgets and broadening opportunities for communication and participation. It also earned recognition for creating a youth-friendly environment with tangible benefits, including achieving a youth employment rate of 54.7%, the highest among districts and counties in Busan. Following the first and second rounds of evaluation, the district was honored with the grand prize.
In particular, the district has encouraged youth participation in district administration by operating a mileage program and has run the Gwangan x TOZ Youth Community Center, a youth hub, along with customized youth programs. Its efforts to expand communication channels through which young people can participate and make proposals directly, while incorporating their voices into district administration, were also cited as key factors behind the award.
District Mayor Kang Seong-tae said, "Building on this grand prize, we will continue to listen more closely to young people's voices, strengthen their participation, and pursue policies that young people can feel the impact of."
