Chuncheon Announces Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Measures, Including 24-Hour Administrative Response

【Financial News Chuncheon=Reporter Kim Gi-seop】Chuncheon is launching an emergency response system focused on disaster and safety management as well as daily civil complaints to minimize inconveniences that residents may face during the holiday period and promote livelihood stability.
According to Chuncheon on the 10th, the city has designated the period from the 14th to the 27th as the intensive implementation period for its comprehensive Chuseok holiday measures. It will manage areas including the local economy, public safety, daily civil complaints, and transportation. From the 24th to the 27th, the holiday period, the city will operate a comprehensive situation room for rapid civil complaint responses. A price-control situation room will remain in operation until the 2nd of next month to monitor the prices of holiday goods and trends in local prices.
Temporary parking will be permitted on roads around eight traditional markets and open-air markets. At Dongbu Market and Hupyeong Market, customers will receive refunds of up to 30% of their purchases of fresh agricultural, livestock, and fishery products in Onnuri Gift Certificates from the 16th to the 20th. The refund limit is 20,000 won per person during the period. The city will also continue providing interest subsidies for small business owners with low credit or low incomes and operating the public-private delivery app Ttaenggyeoyo.
Emergency medical care and public safety management systems will also be strengthened. A 24-hour emergency medical care system will be maintained through the emergency medical care situation room. Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital, designated as the regional emergency medical center in the area; Kangwon National University Hospital, a local emergency medical center; and Inseong Hospital and Armed Forces Chuncheon Hospital, emergency medical facilities, will continue their emergency response. Information on hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies providing on-call services can be found on the Chuncheon Public Health Center website.
Chuncheon Public Health Center, Jogyo Health Care Center, and Seosang Health Care Center will provide holiday medical services on designated days. They will also activate an emergency infectious disease prevention and control system to respond promptly to outbreaks of waterborne and foodborne diseases, group diarrhea, and other conditions.
Household waste may be disposed of only from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the 25th and 27th, and disposal will be prohibited on the 23rd, 24th, and 26th. On the 26th, the day after Chuseok, the city will deploy about 60 vehicles and 180 workers for special waste collection. Street cleaning and intensive collection will focus on major roads, the old downtown area, university districts, commercial areas, and large residential complexes.
In addition, the disaster and safety situation room and the integrated control center will operate 24 hours a day, using CCTV monitoring to respond to crime, disasters, and accidents. A special transportation measures situation room will conduct advance inspections of 2,105 transport vehicles, while 49 village bus routes will operate normally 462 times a day during the holiday period. Emergency repair teams will be dispatched when problems occur with water and sewage systems, roads, or street and security lights. On the 21st, joint patrols by civilians, government officials, and police will inspect areas vulnerable to crime.
Chuncheon Mayor Yuk Dong-han said, "We will carefully attend to areas directly connected to residents’ daily lives, from emergency medical care and disaster response to waste collection and transportation management."
