Hyulim Robot Expands into Carbon Neutrality with AI and Autonomous Robots; CEO Kim Bong-gwan Receives MOFA Minister’s Award

[Financial News] Hyulim Robot is expanding its business into the carbon-neutrality market by leveraging industrial robots, artificial intelligence (AI), and autonomous-driving technologies. The company aims to broaden the role of robots beyond automation at manufacturing and logistics sites to include process optimization and reductions in energy consumption.
According to Hyulim Robot on the 10th, its CEO Kim Bong-gwan received the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Minister’s Award at the 2026 International Climate Forum in recognition of his contributions to achieving carbon neutrality through eco-friendly innovative technologies and to climate diplomacy.
The award has drawn attention because Hyulim Robot is connecting its high-efficiency industrial robots and AI and autonomous-driving technologies with eco-friendly manufacturing infrastructure. Automation on production lines and at logistics sites can improve operational efficiency while reducing unnecessary equipment operation and travel routes, thereby lowering energy consumption.
As the global manufacturing industry faces simultaneous demands to reduce carbon emissions and improve productivity, the competitive focus in the robotics industry is also expanding from simply replacing human labor to energy efficiency. Hyulim Robot’s strategy is likewise to apply robotic automation technology to process optimization and energy savings at manufacturing sites.
An industry official said, "As investment in automation across global manufacturing shifts toward reducing not only energy use and carbon emissions but also improving productivity, the importance of high-efficiency robots and AI-based process optimization technologies is growing."
Kim said, "We will achieve process optimization and reduce energy consumption at manufacturing and logistics sites through high-efficiency industrial robot technology, AI, and autonomous driving. We will lead global carbon neutrality efforts and ESG management."
Meanwhile, the International Climate Forum, held on the 9th at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul, was jointly hosted by the Net Zero 2050 Climate Foundation and the Korea University Global Energy Technology Policy Expert Training Program. This year’s forum brought together diplomatic representatives from various countries and officials from the government, academia, and industry to discuss climate diplomacy, eco-friendly innovative industries, and technology and investment cooperation for carbon neutrality.
