[Financial News] Sangmidang Holdings gifted a trip to Jeju Island to families of children with disabilities.
Sangmidang Holdings said on the 10th that it invited 34 family members of children with disabilities to Jeju Island from the 8th to the 11th for a trip organized with The Purme Foundation, a nonprofit organization specializing in support for people with disabilities.
Now in its 15th year, the trip was funded through the Sangmidang Happy Fund, which was established through voluntary donations from Sangmidang employees. Under the social contribution program, employees donate a set amount from their monthly salaries, and the company matches their contributions to support rehabilitation treatment, special-interest education, and family trips to Jeju Island for children with disabilities.
During the trip, the participating families visited major attractions on Jeju Island, including Paris Baguette Donghwa Village branch, a Paris Baguette store tailored to the local area, as well as Aqua Planet Jeju and Snoopy Garden. They also enjoyed representative Jeju dishes, including black pork and mackerel.
A Sangmidang Holdings representative said, "We hope the participants were able to set aside the burdens of daily life for a while, laugh and rest together, and create happy memories they will cherish for a long time."
In line with Chairman Hur Young-in's management philosophy that "sharing is a company's mission," Sangmidang Holdings has provided approximately 3 billion won through the Sangmidang Happy Fund to 1,860 children with disabilities since 2012.
