[Financial News] CJ OnStyle is expanding its content-commerce business into K-pop following its work in entertainment programming. The company said it plans to launch projects that combine artists and shopping in response to changing fandom consumption patterns, which are expanding beyond music and performances into real-time communication and digital content.
According to industry sources on the 10th, CJ OnStyle will host a special live broadcast with girl group izna on the 11th. The broadcast was arranged ahead of izna’s Seoul performances, part of the group’s first global concert tour, which will take place at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park on the 19th and 20th.
All izna members will appear on the live broadcast and communicate with fans in real time. Under the concept “A Secret Space for izna and Us,” the program will feature content fans may be curious about before the concert, including first-person talks about the members’ inner thoughts.
Concert-related products will also be introduced. The broadcast will sell VIP packages consisting of tickets offering early admission and soundcheck access, along with light sticks. It will air simultaneously on CJ OnStyle’s mobile platform and TV live channel.
CJ OnStyle previously developed products based on ideas from its YouTube entertainment program “Pagimchi Gang.” This time, it is expanding the scope of its content commerce to K-pop artists and fandoms. A CJ OnStyle official said, “Content commerce is evolving beyond simply combining products with well-known intellectual properties. It is about expanding each IP’s universe and fans’ interests into new experiences.”
