[Financial News] Broadcaster Song Eun-i revealed a high-interest installment savings account that paid interest in the 20% range, along with her cumulative return.
On the 9th, the VIVO TV YouTube channel uploaded a video titled "Song & Sook’s Investment Returns Revealed ※ Where Do Securities Firm Employees Invest? Why Kim Sook Opened a Securities App During the Broadcast."
In the video, Song Eun-i and Kim Sook discussed their respective investment portfolios before calling a securities firm employee.
Song Eun-i said, "There is a cumulative return for retirement savings, isn’t there? A cumulative return is different from a short-term return," adding that her own cumulative return was in the 30% range.
She previously said on VIVO TV that she had maintained for decades a financial product she opened in 1993, when she was earning a monthly salary of 200,000 won.
At the time, Song Eun-i explained, "I opened a retirement savings account at a bank in 1993, when I was earning a monthly salary of 200,000 won. The interest rate was in the 20% range then, and although the bank recommended several times that I close it, I have kept it until now."
Addressing the misconception that she had completed her retirement planning, she clarified, "The amount is not large," adding, "The interest rate, which was in the 20% range when I opened it, is still in the 10% range today."
She added, "I think personal financial management is worthwhile. The habit of putting even a small amount into an installment savings account—the small habits we build in those moments—are never truly insignificant. I think that is what matters in personal financial management."
