NAVER’s CHZZK Expands AI-Assisted Coverage of the Asian Games

[Financial News] NAVER will broadcast the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games through its streaming platform CHZZK from October 19 through October 4. The company plans to improve viewing convenience by applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology to sports broadcasts.
According to industry sources on the 10th, CHZZK will begin broadcasting with the national men’s basketball qualifying match scheduled for 4 p.m. today, ahead of the opening ceremony.
CHZZK will offer co-viewing and on-site content. Various sports creators, including Shoot for Love, Park Jong-yoon, Nonterman, and Yoo Hee-Kwan, will participate in co-viewing, a signature viewing culture on CHZZK. CHZZK streamers and clip creators will also be dispatched directly to the Asian Games venues to deliver the atmosphere inside and outside the stadiums through live broadcasts and clips.
NAVER will also further expand the AI technology it applies to sports broadcasts through this Asian Games event. AI Clips and AI Chapter, AI-based convenience features provided during the previous North and Central America World Cup and the Esports World Cup (EWC), will also be introduced for the Asian Games. The company plans to make it easier for viewers to quickly check key moments and find the sections they want, improving viewing convenience at a multi-sport event.
NAVER will also newly introduce multi-source highlights, which combine videos generated from multiple live broadcasts by player, team, or topic into a single clip or VOD. Key moments from multiple live broadcasts by the same broadcaster will be automatically selected and compiled, then provided on that broadcaster’s channel, allowing viewers to enjoy the highlights of each sport and match in a more varied way. Clips will include Korean subtitles generated using speech-to-text technology to convey the main content of the Korean commentary.
Meanwhile, NAVER will provide a schedule feature on its Asian Games special page, allowing users to view at a glance the schedules for 469 events across 43 sports. The Asian Games-exclusive lounge, where sports fans and experts can freely continue cheering, analyzing, and discussing the competition, will also host various interactive events.
