The Korea Association of Realtors announced on the 10th that it held the 'Ceremony for the Launch of the Korea Association of Realtors as a Statutory Organization and the 40th Anniversary of its Founding' at Gwanggaeto-gwan of Sejong University in Gwangjin District, Seoul, on the 9th.
Approximately 1,000 people attended the event, including the association's executives and staff, heads of 19 city and provincial chapters nationwide, delegates and members, and lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties. Attendees looked back on the association's past 40 years and shared its role and operational direction since its launch as a statutory organization.
The ceremony began with a celebratory performance, followed by the screening of a vision video, member awards, a vision proclamation, and a launch commemorative performance. This was followed by a button-pressing ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary, the launch of the statutory organization, and a handprinting session.
Awards were also presented to members who contributed to the development of the association and the enhancement of the status of Licensed Real Estate Agents. Attendees recited the Code of Ethics for Licensed Real Estate Agents together, pledging their responsibilities and roles as qualified professionals.
Kim Jong-ho, President of the Korea Association of Realtors, said, "2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the association's founding and the first year of its designation as a statutory organization. It is a meaningful year in which we have reaped the fruits of the aspirations that all members have shared with one heart for the past 27 years." He added, "As being a statutory organization is another name for responsibility rather than privilege, we will fulfill our responsibilities even more fully in protecting the rights and interests of our members, safeguarding the property rights of the public, and establishing a safe transaction order."
He continued by emphasizing, "If the past 40 years were a history of survival and growth, the next 40 years are a time to make a new leap forward based on expertise," adding, "I will open a new future by creating a Licensed Real Estate Agent profession that the public trusts and seeks out, and an association that members take pride in."
The association plans to enhance the professionalism and status of Licensed Real Estate Agents, strengthen functions for preventing real estate transaction accidents and protecting consumers, and expand the public responsibilities of a statutory organization to establish a sound real estate transaction order.
