Kumho Engineering & Construction Expands Construction Portfolio with Series of Wins in Parking, Multi-Level Development and Advanced Plants

[Financial News] Kumho Engineering & Construction is expanding its business base beyond residential and public construction into parking infrastructure, multi-level urban complex development and advanced industrial facilities.
Kumho Engineering & Construction announced on the 10th that it was selected as the final successful bidder for the KINTEX Parking Complex Building Construction Project on the 31st of last month.
The project involves building a parking facility with one underground level and eight above-ground floors in Daehwa-dong, Ilsanseo District, Goyang City. The total construction cost is approximately 56.3 billion won, including value-added tax.
Kumho Engineering & Construction will carry out the project as the lead contractor, holding a 60% stake. The comprehensive evaluation bidding system, which assesses both price and technical execution capabilities, was applied to the contractor selection. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2026 and be completed in November 2028.
The company has also secured a project in multi-level complex development, which combines transportation, residential and daily-life functions within the limited space of urban areas. The Jangji Depot Multi-Level Development Project, won in July, is a construction project worth approximately 350.6 billion won commissioned by the Seoul Housing & Urban Development Corporation (SH).
The project will maintain the existing functions of the Jangji Public Bus Depot while creating 658 public housing units, community infrastructure and green spaces. Kumho Engineering & Construction will serve as the lead contractor with a 50% stake.
Kumho Engineering & Construction is also expanding into advanced industrial facilities. In August, it signed a construction contract with Samsung Electronics for the construction of the Samsung Electronics FläktGroup Korea Plant. The project involves building a domestic production facility for FläktGroup, a German air-conditioning equipment company acquired by Samsung Electronics.
The plant will be built in Buk District, Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City, with one above-ground floor and a total floor area of 23,588 square meters. It will include an HVAC main plant, offices, warehouses, laboratories and rest facilities.
HVAC systems integrate the management of cooling, heating, ventilation and air quality, and are used in AI data centers and semiconductor plants. Based on this project, Kumho Engineering & Construction plans to build experience in advanced industrial facility construction and participate in AI- and semiconductor-related projects planned in the Honam region.
