Korea Industrial Complex Corporation Partners with Local University Students to Provide 'Life-Oriented Support' for Care and Education

[Financial News] The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation is launching community-oriented social contribution activities in collaboration with local university students, including digital education for the elderly and learning support for children and adolescents. A key feature of these activities is the expansion of the scope, moving beyond traditional volunteer work centered on Corporation employees to a model where university students directly plan and participate in the programs.
The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced on the 10th that it held an inauguration ceremony for the university student volunteer group 'KICOX Youth' with the Ansim No. 1 Comprehensive Social Welfare Center and began youth-led social contribution activities.
KICOX Youth operates in a way that university students directly propose volunteer activity ideas needed by the local community, develop them into actual programs and content, and put them into action. Fifteen local university students selected through an open recruitment last July are participating as the first cohort and will be active until March of next year.
The volunteer group is active in three areas: integrated care, learning support, and community co-prosperity.
In the integrated care sector, training is provided to the elderly on how to use kiosks and smart devices. The focus is on improving the convenience of daily life for the elderly who have difficulty using digital devices.
In the learning support sector, basic learning and career mentoring are provided to local children and adolescents. In the community co-prosperity sector, all volunteers and employees of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation participate together in activities such as plogging and improving the aging environment of the local community.
Lee Sang-hoon, President of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, said, "I hope this volunteer activity will establish itself as a source of practical help to the local community," adding, "We will provide support to help university students learn the value of sharing and prepare for the future."
