[Financial News] Korea Investment & Securities is strengthening its global investment capabilities by building partnerships with global asset managers.
According to the financial investment industry on the 10th, Korea Investment & Securities has successively established partnerships with global asset managers including Fidelity International, PIMCO, and The Carlyle Group. First, on the 7th (local time), it signed a business agreement in London with Fidelity International, a global asset manager overseeing approximately $775 billion (approximately 1,085 trillion won) in assets.
The two companies agreed to exclusively provide Fidelity International’s research capabilities to the Korean market and explore opportunities for joint product development and investment. They are pursuing the launch of their first joint product, the Korea-China-U.S. Tech Fund. They also plan to expand the domestic distribution of Fidelity International’s major investment products and pursue retail cooperation, including global investment education for Korea Investment & Securities’ private bankers and employees.
On the 9th (local time) in New York, Korea Investment & Securities signed separate business agreements with PIMCO and The Carlyle Group. PIMCO is a global fixed-income asset manager overseeing approximately $2.33 trillion (approximately 3,215 trillion won). Korea Investment & Securities signed an agreement with PIMCO on short-term fund management. Going forward, it plans to strengthen exclusive research services on its mobile trading system based on PIMCO’s global market outlook and analysis of major events.
It also plans to regularly introduce and sell PIMCO’s various fund products in Korea, expanding sales cooperation to improve domestic investors’ access to global bond investments. The companies will eventually expand their cooperation to developing customized asset management solutions for individuals, such as separately managed accounts (SMAs) and wrap accounts.
Korea Investment & Securities is also expanding its cooperation in alternative investments with The Carlyle Group, a private equity fund manager with which it has maintained a partnership since 2023. The two sides signed an agreement on entrusted fund management and agreed to pursue investments using funds raised through short-term financial instruments, taking market conditions and investment performance into account.
Korea Investment & Securities plans to strengthen a global business model that connects the specialized capabilities of global financial firms with actual customer touchpoints, including products, research, and asset management, rather than simply adopting those capabilities.
Kim Seong-hwan, president of Korea Investment & Securities, said, "We will go beyond simply bringing the products and in-depth insights of the world’s leading asset managers into the Korean market. We will carefully curate and deliver them to meet the expectations and needs of Korean investors," adding, "We will ensure that investors in Korea can enjoy financial services at a global standard."
Meanwhile, Korea Investment & Securities has hosted the global investor relations event KIS Night since 2024. The event is held in major global financial centers, including New York and Hong Kong, and the company explained that it has been building partnerships based on the network established through the event.
