HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Completes Delivery of Two 115,000-DWT Tankers to Greek Shipowner

【HANOI, Vietnam—Joon-seok Kim, Correspondent】HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding has completed construction of two 115,000-DWT tankers ordered by a Greek shipowner and safely delivered them to the company.
According to local media reports on the 10th, HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding held a naming and delivery ceremony on the 7th in Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam, for two tankers, hulls S569 and S572, built under the Greek LMM project.
The event was attended by Joo Won-ho, president and CEO of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries; Jin Sang-ho, head of HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding; and executives and department heads from HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding. LMM was represented by directors Antonios Georgandzis and Christos Tsoukalas.
At the ceremony, representatives of both sides held a naming ceremony for the two vessels.
Hull S569 was named Hellas Infinity, while hull S572 was named Hellas Utopia. Both vessels are 115,000-DWT-class tankers, measuring 249.97 meters in length, 42.4 meters in width, and 21.5 meters in height.
The two vessels are equipped with Hyundai engines and have obtained certification from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), meeting the stringent technical, safety, and operational requirements of the international shipping market.
The simultaneous construction and delivery of the two large tankers is regarded as the result of close cooperation among HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and LMM throughout the project.
