Acting Police Chief Reviews Measures for Korea–Central Asia Summit: “Flawless Protection and Security”

[Financial News] Kim Jongcheol, acting commissioner general of the Korean National Police Agency, reviewed police protection, security and safety measures ahead of the First Korea–Central Asia Summit.
The Korean National Police Agency said on the 10th that Kim chaired a meeting to review police protection, security and safety measures.
The meeting covered protection for the leaders of participating countries, counterterrorism response, crowd and protest management, traffic control, and other public-security measures needed during the summit.
Kim specifically called for protection and security measures tailored to the characteristics of the event venues and accommodations, emphasizing “flawless protection and security operations that reflect the characteristics of the venues and accommodations.”
The First Korea–Central Asia Summit will be held in Seoul on the 16th. Five Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, are expected to participate.
The government is also strengthening counterterrorism safety measures ahead of the summit. Starting on the 11th, the nationwide terror alert level will be raised from “Attention” to “Caution,” while Seoul’s level will be raised further to “Alert” starting on the 13th.
