Seoul Arena Begins Accepting Venue Rental Applications, Launching Efforts to Attract Global Performances

[Financial News] Seoul Arena has begun accepting rental applications for the second half of next year as it seeks to secure a lineup of major concerts and global tours.
Seoul Arena announced on the 10th that it will accept applications through the 18th from concert promoters, entertainment companies, and other organizations seeking to rent the venue in the second half of 2027.
Seoul Arena is the largest performance venue in South Korea and is being developed with Kakao Corp. as its lead investor. It is being built as a revenue-generating private investment project under a build-transfer-operate (BTO) model: ownership of the facilities will be transferred to the Seoul Metropolitan Government after completion, while a project company in which Kakao Corp. holds a stake will operate the venue for 30 years.
The rental facilities include the Arena, which can accommodate up to 28,000 people, and a mid-sized performance hall with a capacity of approximately 7,000. They can host various live events, including global tours, festivals, concerts, fan meetings, and showcases. The two venues can also be used together according to the scale and nature of each performance.
Companies seeking to rent the venue can apply through Seoul Arena’s official rental website. Seoul Arena will comprehensively assess the event schedule, content, execution capabilities, and marketing plan before deciding whether to approve each application. For approved events, the venue will discuss the details required for production and operations with the renter after the contract is signed.
Seoul Arena has installed retractable seating so that the audience layout can be adjusted flexibly according to the event format. It will also introduce a seating light-emitting diode (LED) system linked to performance direction, along with sound infrastructure. A large stage equipment hoisting system has been installed in the ceiling, allowing lighting, sound, and video equipment to be set up flexibly. Routes have also been provided for trucks to enter directly into the venue.
Seoul Arena plans to accelerate efforts to secure the performance lineup to be presented after its opening in the first half of next year, beginning with this rental application process. As the venue has been selected to host Fanomenon 2027, an event being developed with the goal of becoming a Korean version of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, it will also work to attract major concerts and global tours.
